Monica Williams

Monica Williams is currently the Chief Executive Producer and Expert Consultant at The Equity Project, LLC. Monica’s role is to partner with organizations in assessment, strategic planning, consulting, facilitation and implementation related to creating more equitable outcomes through diversity, inclusion, equality, justice, and engagement.


Monica is the former Director of Equity and Inclusion at Denver International Airport. Monica established and led the Office of Equity and Inclusion, including key areas such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Employee Engagement, Civil Rights Programs (ADA and Title VI) and Future Workforce Development. Monica was responsible for leading the organization's assessment, creation, design, implementation and execution strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.


Prior to the airport, Monica spent most of her 25-year professional career within the technology industry at CenturyLink, formerly Qwest Communications. She led the organization’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts, including aligning and growing the Employee Resource Groups across 37 states and the formation and leadership of executive-led steering teams. Monica has a background in program management, sales compensation, employee rewards and recognition programs, sales referral programs and data reporting and analysis.


Monica is skilled at connecting with audiences at every level of an organization to gain followership, sponsorship and adoption of DEI principles. She remains focused and intent on creating a culture of equity and inclusion within workplaces and communities through her leadership, action and advocacy. It is her life’s work.


Monica is the co-founder and President of TIED (Talent, Inclusion, Engagement and Diversity) Leadership Roundtable, an organization made up of 60+ companies with a Colorado presence that are focused on making a difference within their respective workplaces. TIED was established in 2011.


Monica earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Monica serves on various community boards; such as American Red Cross Colorado and Wyoming, and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Foundation. Also, she has held leadership positions in women’s organizations, finance departments, public relations and music ministries.
