John Bowman

John Bowman serves as Executive Vice President for U.S. Programs for Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Bowman has more than 20 years of policy advocacy and coalition building experience and a passionate commitment to protecting children and saving lives from tobacco use, as well as advancing health equity and social justice. Before coming to Tobacco-Free Kids, Bowman most recently served as Managing Director of Government Affairs for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and led their federal and state government affairs teams.


He previously worked at the American Association for Justice, Obama for America and as Chief of Staff for U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida. He has also worked for the Atlanta City Council and former Florida Gov. Lawton Chiles. Bowman received his J.D. from Florida State University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.
