Dorothea Polk

Dorothea Polk, MPH, is a Strategic Manager for the Vaccine Equity and Access Program (VEAP) at Community Catalyst. In this role, Dorothea works to increase vaccination opportunities and education in high need communities in an effort to address racial disparities and drive progress towards health equity.

Dorothea’s interest in public health and advocacy began as an AmeriCorps member volunteering with a community health center. While there, Dorothea focused on community outreach, program implementation, and social determinants of health as barriers to care.

Inspired by her work with the health center, Dorothea pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of South Florida. While earning her MPH, Dorothea worked as a project manager, where she provided day-to-day oversight of Medicaid and CHIP grants focused on promoting enrollment, outreach, and training activities. Dorothea is also an AHEC and Gates Scholar and served as a US liaison while studying community participation in health in Indonesia.
