Anita Gaillard

Anita joined the staff of the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation of the Indiana Department of Health (TPC) in July 2001 as the Director of Community Programs.  Anita was active in establishing the infrastructure for tobacco control in most counties in Indiana. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health degree from Meharry Medical College and a B.A. from Fisk University, both in Nashville, Tennessee. Anita retired from TPC in September of 2022. Anita has been a Center for Black Health & Equity Board member since 2018 and is currently in her second year as Chair of the Board. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, walking with Black Girls Run Indy, and reading with The Ladies Book Club. She faithfully serves her church on the Adult Education Ministry and Leadership Team and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
